New matching ep's. AEG. Previous owner's inscription to ffep. Pp xii, 195. With frontis, 6 other b&w full-page illustrations and 5 vignettes. The author was born Elizabeth Hawkins-Whitshed (1860 - 1934). In 1907 she was elected 1st President of the Ladies' Alpine Club. She was married 3 times and wrote 7 mountaineering books, under her married names: Mrs. Fred Burnaby (m. 1879), Mrs. Frederick Main ( m. 1886 ), and Mrs Aubrey Le Blond (m. 1900). A scarce item, especially in such good condition.
